Speed in Physics

Image
SPEED Today We are going to Discuss about Speed . First of all we have a question what is Speed . Speed : - The speed of a moving body tells us how fast the body is moving. Thus, The Speed of a body describes the rapidity of its motion.                                                              Or, Th...

Uniform motion & Non-Uniform motion

Uniform motion & Non-Uniform motion Hi. friends in previous post we discuss about How does the Distance travelled by a body differ from its Displacement and in this post we discuss about Uniform motion & Non-Uniform motion. Uniform motion : An object is said to be moving with uniform velocity if it covers equal displacements in equal intervals of time, however small these intervals may be.                                         Or, Another word we can say that, A body is said to have uniform motion when it travels equal distances in equal intervals of time. Uniform motion of a body is illustrated. Time Example : A body moving with a constant speed is said to be in uniform motion. The st...

How does the Distance travelled by a body differ from its Displacement

Image
We have seen that the distance travelled by a body differs from its displacement in certain respects. These differences are given in Table.                                                         Distance 1. The distance travelled by a moving body is the actual length of the path covered by the body, irrespective of the direction. 2. Distance travelled is a scalar quantity. 3. Distance traveled is always positive, negative or zero. 4. Distance travelled is always greater than or equal to the displacement.                    Displacement 1. The displacement of a body is the shortest distance between the initial and the final position of the body. 2. Displacement is a vector quantity. 3. ...

GRAPHICAL REPRESENTATION OF DISPLACEMENT AND DISTANCE TRAVELLED

Image
Hi Friends here we come again with the previous point that is related to Motion. In previous Post we have talk about Motion where we have dealt with some points so now lets continue from there...   GRAPHICAL REPRESENTATION OF DISPLACEMENT AND DISTANCE TRAVELLED The difference between the distance travelled by a body and its displacement is shown graphically in given below What is meant by positive, negative or zero displacement The displacement of a body in any direction is given by,       Displacement, d = Final position – Initial position = (x 2 – x 1 )

DISTANCE AND DISPLACEMENT

Hi Friends here we come again with the previous point that is related to Motion. In previous Post we have talk about Motion where we have dealt with some points so now lets continue from there...                            DISTANCE AND DISPLACEMENT Distance: - The length of the actual path between the initial and final position of the particle is called the distance. Another word we can say that: The term distance actually is the distance travelled by a moving body. Unit of distance Distance can be expressed in any suitable unit of length, eg., centimeter, meter, kilometer, etc. The SI unit of distance is meter (m). In CGS system, the unit of distance is centimeter.
